TCEP: Transitions in operator placement to adapt to dynamic network environments

چکیده
Distributed Complex Event Processing (DCEP) is a commonly used paradigm to detect and act on situational changes of many applications, including the Internet Things (IoT). DCEP achieves this using simple specification analytical tasks data streams called operators their distributed execution set infrastructure. The adaptivity dynamics IoT applications essential very challenging in face changing demands concerning Quality Service. In our previous work, we addressed issue by enabling transitions, which allow for adaptive use multiple operator placement mechanisms. article, extend transition methodology optimizing costs analyzing behaviour Furthermore, provide an extensive evaluation imposed migrations learning, as it can inflict overhead performance if operated uncoordinatedly.

Adaptive Dynamic Data Placement Algorithm for Hadoop in Heterogeneous Environments
Hadoop MapReduce framework is an important distributed processing model for large-scale data intensive applications. The current Hadoop and the existing Hadoop distributed file system’s rack-aware data placement strategy in MapReduce in the homogeneous Hadoop cluster assume that each node in a cluster has the same computing capacity and a same workload is assigned to each node. Default Hadoop d...
متن کاملMiddleware Systems for Enabling Users to Adapt to Dynamic Changes in Execution Environments
Wedesigned and implemented threemiddleware systems for efficient use of dynamically joining and leaving computing resources. Clusters of computers and computational grids, which have become increasingly important, are dynamic environments. Because of factors such as resource sharing and failure, the quality of resources available to an application changes constantly. For example, since non-dedi...
متن کاملPhytoplankton adapt to changing ocean environments.
Model projections indicate that climate change may dramatically restructure phytoplankton communities, with cascading consequences for marine food webs. It is currently not known whether evolutionary change is likely to be able to keep pace with the rate of climate change. For simplicity, and in the absence of evidence to the contrary, most model projections assume species have fixed environmen...
متن کاملFirst, admit you have a problem: Using metacognition to adapt to dynamic and uncertain environments
Any system intended for real-world deployment must be able to accommodate unexpected change—that is, it must be perturbation-tolerant. We have found that metacognitive monitoring and control—the ability of a system to self-monitor its own decision-making processes and ongoing performance, and to make targeted changes to its beliefs and action-determining components—can play an important role in...
